seats- they are extremely uncomfortable, i realize this is an economy car but they are terrible. |

I bought my Golf GL brand new in 2002. Perhaps i was spoiled because my previous car was a '98 A4. I have had tremendous luck with VWs in the past, however, this car has failed to live up to expectations. I purchased the car thinking that it would get exceptional gas mileage but it performs only slightly better than average and it is not worth being uncomfortable for. Worst of all, I had to make several repairs on a 2002 vehicle with 65k miles for really strange repairs (replace the emergency brake?, new ignition coil?, spark plug wires, and my personal favorite- a rotted tire rod). I know that people swear by these cars, and i was drinking the kool-aid for a while too. I am seriously considering getting rid of it and picking up a civic or something. |
