I test drove the V6 Fusion and bought it the same day. The driving characteristics of this vehicle are well balanced between sport tuned and ride comfort. The suspension is not too stiff as to give you back problems driving to work day after day. Likewise, the ride is not spunge-soggy as to make you sea-sick from the rocking in cornering and road bumps. The V6 paired with a smooth-as-silk 6 speed transaxle gives you plenty of zip to pass at highway speeds and to accelerate out of potential hazardous situations. The interior and exterior of the Fusion are hybrids of several 'looks'. From the Cadillac style sloping rear window to trunk, to the Japanese Import styled tail lights, to the BMW / Volkswagen textured dashboard, the Fusion is a toast to the view-tiful styling cues from different geographic regions. The grille and quarter panels give the Fusion a slick, sporty look that is complimentary to the performance of the V6. The seats are comfortable, with some lateral support in cornering. The trunk is volumeous, and with fold-down rear seats can fit anything from a 10 member family grocery shopping spree to a set of mountain bikes. The rear leg room is plentiful for a midsize, although the rear seats lack decent head restraints. The Fusion is exactly what the name suggests, a classy and appealing fusion of styles that combine to make a great car. |
