Favorite feature: |
Styling, interior design, available manual transmission with the v-6, and the knowledge that not many other people will have it also |
Least favorite feature: |
Mazda isn't known as the greatest nameplate, Accord and Altima have more power |
Advice to buyer: |
If you're in the market for either a 4 door, or something sporty, this is the best of both worlds |
Detailed review: |
Luckily, this was the last car that I test drove before finally purchasing it, because i drove nearly everything. Including: The Acura RSX (base, automatic and type-s), the Volkswagen Jetta 1.8t, the Nissan Altima 2.5S and the Sentra SE-R Spec-V, the Ford Focus SVT, The Mitsubishi Eclipse GT, The Hyundai Tiburon GT, The Subaru WRX, and the Honda Civic Si. At first I believed that I couldn't afford the 6 because it was a new model and there wouldn't be much of a discount, but my girlfriend convinced me to try it anyway. Thankfully, I did. I was this close to getting the RSX because of the performance of the 6 speed shifter and the quality of the interior, and because it is an Acura, but the lack of heated seats, foglights, a spoiler and most of all, no armrest. I fully expect an armrest on a car that costs nearly 24k. My second choice was the Sentra SE-R Spec V, but finding one loaded with all the features along with the color I wanted was nearly impossible. It was also pretty crude when it came to ride quality and loudness when cruising. Also, it's just a Sentra. The Jetta was nice, but has been around for a while and was more than i was willing to pay. The WRX was extremely fun and fast, but I didn't like the styling or the interior. The rest were merely average. The 6 is a great looking car in and out and full of features. I got the v-6 Mazda 6s, 5 speed manual with leather, sunroof, bose stereo with the 6 disc changer, heated seats, side and curtain airbags, and lastly the sport package, which is a steal at $860. It only cost me $30 more per month to get the v-6, and that only gets you the v-6 engine and automatic climate control. But once you feel the extra 60 horsepower and use the automatic climate control, its a very small price to pay. Bottom line, the styling, performance, interior room and price are superior to any other car I have ever driven. |
