Researched, researched, and researched...after loosing 13-yr old Ford Escort to old age. Competition could not compare in price, features, and quality, including Ford Focus (A disappointment to my all Ford stable). This car replaces my primary commuter car from home to Washington DC area, a 180 mile round trip. At six months old, my 4-dr, 5-spd has over 20K miles with no complaints. Suggest you get the Moonroof/ABS/Traction option which also adds rear disc brakes (not obvious from literature - I almost purchased 5-dr just to get rear discs when I didn't need the 5-dr). Car has performed wonderfully in my mix of high-speed and bumper-to-bumper interstate driving, with city driving around home on weekends. May start a new trend in my driveway. |
