Bought a new 2000 V70AWD SE. LOved the car initially. The maintenance costs averaged 2-3K a year after the warrantly ran out. Had no end of electrical problems, ECT went out at 50K miles - $1,400, Transfer Differential at 60K miles - $4,000!!!. My mistake was not buying an extended warranty. Car handles well in poor road conditions- ice, snow, heavy rain. Cost of ownership is the killer. My first and last Volvo. Volvo's biggest mistake - selling out to FORD!!! |
