While many reviewers comment on quality control issues, so far I have seen none. Admittedly, this vehicle was manufactured at the end of the model year run, it seems fine in every regard. Power is more than adequate and the six-speed transmission shifts seamlessly and shows none of the problems associated with earlier 07 built models. There is an unnatural downshifting of the transmission at slower speeds, however, and feels much like a manual downshift. This was evident in my 03 LE V6; it is somewhat disconcerting but must be a feature endemic to Toyota. Gas mileage is great for a car of this weight and power. There is an interesting mix of leather, faux wood, and plastic in the interior. Overall, the seats are comfortable, but lack bolsters. The rest of the interior is comfortable but a little tight getting in the back seat. Once in, there is plenty of leg room and hip room. While many have commented on its styling (pro and con), I think the redesigned Camry is more appealing than the 02-06 models. Overall, a very good car that fills the bill for good, basic, and reliable transportation with the bells and whistles most people want in this price range. |
