I just leased a 05 Cobalt, cobalt blue with automatic transmission, in dash single cd, cruise control, manual windows and locks. I leased this car with 4000.00 and I am paying $180.00 per month for 4 years with 12,000 miles a year, I really thought it was a wonderful deal! I am very happy about the interior. I am not too satisfied,I feel that GM could pay more attention in the assembly line before putting this car into production; I am hearing a thumping and banging noise on the rear passenger side of the truck, especialy backing out of the driveway or pulling in and out of a parking lot. I have also felt and heard a thug - thumping sound and vibration from the brake pedal and on the floor (under the floor board), this occurs during stopping, starting out and making a right hand turn. The alignment and balance of the tires were off and are even worse since I have had the car in the service dept. This bothers me emensly, the fact that I only had the car for two weeks and this started, what will it be like after my 4 year lease. After taking it in to the dealership it didn’t really make a difference because the service dept. stated that they found nothing wrong BUT... the car is still making these noises. Was there a sicere effort to fixing my problems? Ok, I know!, $180 a month! What can I expect? Well, what I do expect is that the company (factory) put forth more effort to assuring that the vehicles that they place on the market are in better condition that this. Having these problems now will cause me to have the same problems and lose money when trying to lease again, sell, or trade near the end or at the end of my lease.
