 Advice to buyer:

This car is meant to be DRIVEN!

 Detailed review:

From the very first time I sat in the new 2006 Jetta for a test-drive, I knew that it was the car for me. I must admit I was extremely disappointed about the new body style as the zippy/sporty style of the previous years is what made me notice the Jetta in the first place. This new style is, for lack of a better phrase, about as exciting as a Yugo. The new body style did not deter me, however, from taking that test-drive. As I started the test drive the salesperson led me down a road filled with hairpin curves and, because I was driving the car like it was my grandmother's, she kept urging me to 'DRIVE IT!! THIS CAR IS MADE TO BE DRIVEN.' And drive it I did..thus beginning my love affair with the Jetta all over again. I had an enormous grin on my face when I pulled back into the dealership, and it was obvious that I was on a major adrenaline rush. I didn't buy the Jetta that day, as I did not want to make a rash decision. For the next 2 months I stopped at every car dealership I saw and the only thing that impressed me was that NONE of them had ANY VW Jettas. When this occurred to me, it dawned on me that if there are no used Jettas for sale at the used car lots it can only mean two things. Either these cars last a long time and therefore don't get traded in very often, or the only place I would find used Jettas readily availble would be at the VW dealership-which meant that once people buy a Jetta, they rarely trade it in for a car from another manufacturer. I got to thinking that if either (or both) of the above reasons were true then I would be an idiot NOT to get a Jetta. So, the next day I drove my Toyota Camry to the VW dealership and left with a brand new Jetta. And not ONCE have I regretted the decision!!!
