I walked into a Lincoln/Mercury dealership looking for a SUV with AWD that was going to replace my Audi A4 Quattro. I didn't even know that an AWD sedan from Mercury existed. I saw the one in the showroom and I immediately liked the style, and all of the convenient features. I was initially skeptical about the performance because I liked my Audi so much, but the test drive immediately got rid of any doubts. The V6 3.0 liter engine definitely does its job to put out the maximum 221 bhp when it needs to. The car is quick enough when it needs to be quick, and quiet enough at all times so that you can enjoy the stereo system the way you're supposed to. I compared the car to a Nissan Altima, a Toyota Camry, a Honda Accord and a Volvo S40 AWD, but overall, there was no question in my mind that my fully-loaded Milan was the best of the bunch. And to think that I paid at least $3,500 less for this car than I would have for any of the others, it was a no-brainer. It helped that my dealer, Town Motors of Englewood, NJ, offered me a very reasonable trade for my Audi and that I was able to get 3.9% financing for 48 months, along with a $1,000 manufacturer's rebate. The salesperson was never aggressive and always understanding. The financing was smooth. It provided me with enough leftover cash that I extended my bumper-to-bumper warranty to 5/75,000 miles and I treated myself to a Garmin Nuvi 350 GPS system, and I'll still be able to put in an extra $123 per month into our savings account. |
