Brilliant blend betwWhere to begin.... I'm clearly a believer (but isn't that the point... you're looking for creed here not another cliche dissenting opinion) I have owned 2 Subaru wagons: both tie for the most functional car I've eeen function and form. |

Advice to buyer: |
Get the XT you won't be disappointned (thought the mileage is worse) the performance more than makes up for the difference. Be honest... it's a Subaru so indulge (you've saved not only money... but yourself from the snobb factor of an Audi / BWM / Volvo) |
Detailed review: |
Where to begin.... I'm clearly a believer (but isn't that the point... you're looking for creed here not another cliché dissenting opinion) I have owned 2 Subaru wagons: both tie for the most functional car I've ever owned (in re: mileage, stow-ability, 'go-anywhere' muscle) but never really known to turn heads. The '05 (minus the poor gas mileage in the XT) are all that Sub-wagons have been know for plus a big ole bag-o-chips on the side. The chips are flavor: major interior / exterior style factor improvements. If you haven't bought Subaru before, don't be fooled by the German, American, or other Japanese 4WD attempts: all things considered Subaru is better, less expensive and full of time-tested engineering advantages (such as boxer engine / drive-train / sync-style AWD (which directly impact the reliability / quality). All in all (granted this is from the choir) 05 Subaru Outback XT is now a vogue top shelf 'spirit' at a predictably fair corner tavern price. Bad metaphor but the message is true true true. The XT also is faster (ha ha ha...) than my friend’s 42K BMW 325Xi wagon. |
