If you want a safe, sharp-looking, practical, reliable, and efficient SUV, the Honda CR-V is your best choice! |
Detailed review: |
One adjective that best describes the CR-V is sensible! It's well designed, sharp looking, safe, spacious, and economical. Having had this car for 5 months, I put in over 5K of hard driving and it has been behaving well. Acceleration is sufficient at low speeds. Though, I find it's underpowered when climbing steep (11% grade) hills, even with only 3 people and luggage. The button (automatic) that on-the-fly shifts one gear lower doesn’t help much in this case. You have to permanently shift to lower gears to extract the optimal performance/torque. Since I rarely haul a lot of things up steep hills, I'd rather sacrifice power for efficiency. The average mileage started in the low 20s and now reaches about 24. Don't think it's broken yet (another 5-10K?). For an SUV, it offers great visibility, even better than many cars! Everything else about this car is very typical of Honda. |
