The KIA Rio is the perfect car for those on an absolutely tight budget. Being stranded in Alaska and needing to purchase a car quick... the Rio was the obvious choice. Just reading reviews of this economical car were enough to sell me on it. After purchasing the car (over the phone) from the local dealership, I finally got to drive it a day later. I was completely and still am completely impressed. I got the most basic car possible, no extra toots and whistles; I am here to tell you, it was the best investment I've ever made in a car. I drove the car in the middle of winter across the Alaskan-Highway from Anchorage, AK to St. Louis, MO. It handled a huge amount of weather varying from snow, ice, thunderstorms, and everything in between. Within the first two weeks of ownership, I traveled over 5,000 miles... and the car never missed a lick. Now, it's still running like a champ; only reason I'm getting rid of it - I need air conditioning in the humid Midwest. Something I really didn't need in Alaska. |
