Favorite feature: |
exterior styling (wife got the red one) |
Least favorite feature: |
road noise & low grade audio w/o the upgraded stereo. |
Advice to buyer: |
Consider the Jaguar x-type(might cost more) or wait for the SAAB 93 wagon w/ 250HP (not AWD though) |
Detailed review: |
I did an overnight test drive from a dealer in southern Maine & was quite impressed w/ the AWD T5's performance. A lot of wind noise on the highway and the power is adequate w/ the slushbox; I have to say though that the reviews from Caranddriver &/or roadandtrack are accurate in the sense that the manu-matic is the best I've driven compared to the G35, 330Xi & my current '05 S4. It gives the most control & does not up-shift at redline, just stays there & waits for your input. Do your homework: I got my AWD T5 w/ comfort & convenience pakage at 28.8K (let delers w/in 150 mile radius compete for your business). My wife took 2 hours to decide bet black & red; but I agreed w/ her, this car looks sharper in red. Our prev '04 330 Xi & current '05 S4 are black. |
