The tires are HORRIBLE, if you have any kind of blood left in your veins boys, change them, I did and the car is at another level |
Advice to buyer: |
Always use premium fuel and a octane booster, also, if you live in the snow belt, get snow tires, the V6 will overpower any 'ALL SEASON' tire you can buy. |
Detailed review: |
What can I say, I drove the 4 cyl, it was ok, on a whim I took out my 3.5 SE with a standard transmission, WOW, it was sold before the test drive was done. The car is a beautiful machine, silent, elegant and what can I say the ladies like it. But as soon as you delve into that rich powerband of the V6 at about 4000RPM, you forget all about that and just wanna be a hooligan. I live in Canada, near the Rockies and let me tell you, short of a BMW M5 I have yet to experience a car that can provide more fun per kilometre. The gas mileage is ok, I average about 9L/100K on the highway and about 11L/100K in the city. If you really like the Accord/Camry twins then you will never understand this car, its no cookie cutter 4 door breadbox, its truly a poor mans BMW, but you dont need a winter car like the BMW owner. The only things I want to change on this car are lower spring, stiffer shocks, stiffer anti-sway bars and some mufflers that will let the VQ35 breathe. You have not heard an engine till youve heard this V6 at about 6500 rpm, thats why I want to let it sing. The suspension for me is way too soft, too much body lean with too soft of suspension combine to give this car a bouncy at the limit behavior. Also, Nissan, for the love of god and all that good, give this car a decent set of tires, the stock ones are just horrible and how about a LSD option, 200 horses at the front wheels+extreme cornering angles=a smoking and squealing inside tire. Again, the modifications are needed only if you are a spirited driver and young enough to call the stock ride too soft. Anyone of the more aged persuasion would be very happy with the stock car. |
