NEW YORK – It’s been billed as the 2006 New York International Auto Show, though the first media day had a strong focus on one manufacturer – Nissan. The company’s President and CEO, took the opportunity to discuss the current market, unveil three updated products, and finally, announce that the GT-R sports car will be sold through U.S. and Canadian Nissan dealerships in the spring of 2008, while Japanese customers can get their hands on one about six months earlier. No specific details regarding the vehicle’s price or powertrain are available. As mentioned, April 12th marked the official debut of three revised Nissan and Infiniti models shoppers are already familiar with. The 2007 Infiniti G35, with its massaged styling and more powerful engine, will be available in November, as will the thoroughly revised 2007 Nissan Altima. The last of the trio, the 2007 Nissan Maxima, hits lots in June marked by slight styling changes, a new CVT transmission, and revised seats. Photos courtesy of Nissan
