Introduction

The idea of compact and subcompact cars is economy through simplicity. Our selection method was to use the EPA’s market class to narrow the overall field. We then picked the small cars that we’ve rated 3.5 stars and higher. They range in price from about $11,000 to $23,000, so there’s something here for buyers with small to average budgets.
