Advice: Deal Breakers

It’s the Chrysler version of an old SUV. With two thirsty V8s mated to a rough five-speed automatic transmission, the sad news is that it’s the last of a fading breed, replaced by more efficient and flat out better vehicles. At sticker, it’s not even a good value: More than $30,000 gets you cloth seats and some nice safety treats, but needed features such as a power liftgate and a third-row bench seat are options. Worse yet, none of the interior innovations offered in other new Chrysler vehicles – like MyGIG or a hot/cold cupholder – are available in the Sebring. Bottom line: during our week, we averaged just over 11 mpg. That’s a deal breaker all by itself.
